The rapid development of AI is being driven by advances in computing power and improved machine learning algorithms. Thanks to these developments, we are seeing AI applications across a wide range of fields – from healthcare and finance to transport and marketing. Technologies such as deep learning, which is a core part of modern AI, allow autonomous vehicles to “see” their surroundings and make decisions in real time.
AI is increasingly present in everyday life. Assistants such as Siri or Google Assistant simplify daily tasks, while in retail and marketing AI helps analyse customer behaviour and create personalised offers. AI is even beginning to transform labour markets – some positions are being automated, raising questions about the future of employment.

Yet with the rapid development of AI come significant challenges. How do we ensure that AI is safe and fair? How do we protect people’s privacy when AI collects vast amounts of data? How do we ensure that the automation of jobs does not lead to greater unemployment? The answers to these questions will be decisive in determining which direction AI takes.
Despite these challenges, it is clear that AI will play an even greater role in all areas of our lives in the future. Artificial intelligence is expected to help address global problems such as climate change and resource scarcity, and to open up new possibilities for science and innovation.
